Dr Fanar Yacoub

General Paediatrician

Dr Yacoub is a qualified paediatrician with over 10 years of practice in Australia. She finished paediatric speciality training in Iraq in 2006 and finished her paediatric training in Australia in 2016. She has done neonatal training in both tertiary neonatal units at the Mater Mothers’ and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospitals. Fanar has recently commenced working at Queensland Children’s Clinic in a private capacity.

Fanar enjoys helping with acute and chronic paediatric conditions as well as developmental paediatrics. She is also working in the public sector as a general paediatrician at Queensland Children’s Hospital.

​

As a mother herself, Fanar understands the importance of dealing with childhood conditions in a holistic family approach and has a clear appreciation of the challenges of parenthood. She is also passionate about communication and collaborating with other service providers such as schools and other medical practitioners. In doing so, she provides coordinated care for children and their families who call her their paediatrician.
