Dr Shanta Sekar

General Paediatrician

Dr Shanta Sekar has over 10 years’ experience working in Paediatrics across Queensland. She is a General Paediatrician and is completing her subspeciality training in Paediatric Rehabilitation Medicine. This has given her a breadth of experience in managing patients with a range of medical complexities from cerebral palsy, spina bifida, rare neurodevelopmental disorders to patients with learning difficulties, ADHD and autism.

Shanta maintains a casual public appointment at Queensland Children’s Hospital and is an Associate Lecturer with the University of Queensland. She is committed to supporting the health of young people across Australia as part of the Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine Committee (AYAMC).

​

Shanta is passionate about providing family-centred care in order to achieve the goals for each individual patient and their family. She prides herself on her communication and interpersonal skills in working with various stakeholders in a multidisciplinary team in order to achieve this
