Dr Rajitha Koman

General Paediatrician

Rajitha is a General Paediatrician providing holistic medical care for children of all ages, from birth to adolescence. Her areas of particular interest include developmental, behavioural, learning disorders and neurological conditions. She loves to provide multidisciplinary care for families of children with complex, chronic conditions. In addition, being a parent of two children, she enjoys supporting young parents of newborns facing any challenges with feeding, sleep, or any other medical conditions.

Rajitha spent most of her training in Queensland Children’s Hospital in general Paediatrics and other subspecialties. She also worked at Mater Mother’s Hospital, Redcliffe Hospital, Redlands Hospital, Ellen Barron Family Centre and Mackay Base Hospital during her training years.

​

Rajitha has experience working as a fellow in the Neurology Department at Queensland Children’s Hospital. She also worked with Child Developmental Services at Children’s Health Queensland. She was part of the team assessing children with complex developmental issues, including ASD, ADHD, various learning problems and Global Developmental Delay.

Before moving to Australia, Rajitha completed her medical degree at Calicut University (2004) and her post-graduate training in General paediatrics from the Prestigious Institute of Child Health, Madras medical college, India (2011). She also holds a DCH certificate from the University of Sydney.

Rajitha is passionate about teaching and research-related activities. Besides work, she loves travelling with her family and gardening.
